India to build 440 light utility choppers for armed forces
NEW DELHI: The Indian armed forces have projected a combined requirement of 440 light utility helicopters which will now be manufactured indigenously involving the state-owned HAL and private sector firms in partnership with foreign players. The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) of the Ministry of Defence on Monday gave the go-ahead for four major acquisitions worth nearly Rs. 16,000 crore for the Indian Navy and the Army.
