India's military might to reach new highs in 2014
India seems to have begun the New Year on a military high with Russian-origin aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, which set sail from Russia over a month ago, expected to reach its home base in Karwar around January 14-15. Besides, the country has raised its first mountain strike corps in Ranchi to face the Chinese in the mountains of the North-East. Vikramaditya joins Indian fleet in Indian Ocean
India's new floating airfield INS Vikramaditya entered the Indian Ocean Region earlier this week where it was joined by INS Viraat, the Navy's second aircraft carrier. The Viraat's meeting with the Vikramaditya was a momentous occasion for the Navy as it was only the first time since 1992 when two carriers operated together.
