India, a rapidly growing market for Cavotec, the Group is to manufacture and supply Prefabricated Military Fuel Hydrant Pit Assemblies, Low Point Drain & High Point Vent Assemblies for installation at an air base near New Delhi.

The systems will be used to fuel Boeing C-17 transport aircraft. The Indian Air Force has ten of these aircraft on order.Cavotec will also provide installation and commissioning support for these systems. The Group’s customer on this project is technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company Larsen & Toubro.

Cavotec has also secured two orders for prefabricated surge absorber and isolation pits as part of a hydrant refuelling system project at Pune Airport. Delivery of these systems is scheduled for December this year. ”These are major breakthroughs for Cavotec because they put us in an excellent position to take advantage of new opportunities for our fuel systems and our other GSE across the Indian market,” says Sureskumar Sinnadurai, Managing Director Cavotec India.

Cavotec’s innovative in-ground systems reduce the use of diesel driven vehicles needed to service aircraft. Using in-ground systems, and thereby limiting the use of conventional service vehicles, cuts emissions, improves turn-around times, reduces collisions with aircraft and improves safety for ground staff.

Cavotec is a leading system designer and integrator for the global airports sector. Working closely with airports, airlines and industry bodies, the Group manufactures a diverse range of advanced GSE including 400Hz power supply, PCA, refuelling and wet services systems, housed in underground pits, tunnel systems and mobile ground power units.
